Answer the following question in full detail on your Monochromatic Painting.
Now take a look at your finished piece and describe what elements of the
piece you believe were successful. Describe your piece using at least 5
art terms in full sentences. Then tell me how you think you have improved from your black and white block to this lesson and how.
The parts I believe where successful where the inside of the different objects. The color and shades came out very well I think with the transition from light to dark. The outlines where pretty good also, of the original sketch. I did not like how the background turned out, with the colors not coming together as well as the shapes. I felt like I improved on going from light to dark with the mixing of the colors.
ReplyDeleteLooking back at my monochromatic painting I think that the color in the actual objects was blended much more smoothly than on my wooden block. I believe that it was slightly easier to create the different shades of blue than it was to get the different tints. I feel that i could have made more of a color variation for the background. From the wooden block i thin that I improved on transitioning from color to color more smoothly.
ReplyDeleteMy parts I believe were successful are the shading in my objects. It was a lot easier to blend the colors on the paper than on the wooden block, I felt the paint was harder to make more straighter lines than the wooden block project, My actual picture looked better but it was harder to paint. And the whole project looks more good than my previous one. I have improved on my painting skills, and the blending of my colors more.
ReplyDeleteThe objects that i used in my picture blended well. It is very unique and well made. On this project, i became better at blending my colors. It was kind of difficult to paint with in the lines but by the end it turned out well. I am happy with the way it looks.
ReplyDeleteI believe I was successful on painting smoother. My project was blended well, smooth and displayed going from light to dark. I have improved from the block project because My painting has much less white areas and looks much better.
ReplyDeleteWhat I though was successful were my objects. The monochromatic green scale turned out pretty well and I used a little of the grayscale in my drawing. It was easier to paint on paper than it was on the wooden block. I think I have improved on using colors in a scale and blending since our last assignment.
ReplyDeleteMy project had a few lines that I could've fixed. It had a good balance with its different shades. The detail is lacking with this project though. The background went good with it because it made the subjects stand out so you could see them stand out.
ReplyDeleteThe parts that were successful would be my shading of the 3 objects. My art work was colorful for shades of purple, good balance, good lines, and visual. I have improved because my shading is getting better with colors now not just with black and white.
ReplyDeleteI believe the most successful parts of my monochromatic painting is the still life objects that I drew. I drew a lock, bottle, and Christmas bulb on my paper and I also drew a design in the background to help the image flow. I also had the background color blend from a lighter to a darker shade, while the images and design catch the viewer's eye. Most of my brush strokes are also visible in the painting. I have improved my painting skill from the wooden block, especially now that I have a better blend of colors and have a larger variance of different shades in my painting. I also made the images easier to see apart from the background in this painting.
ReplyDeleteI believe the color or shading of the color were successful. I believe that Color of the project is really good. All the shapes combined together were really successful. I also like the variety of sizes of each shape and color their is involved. I think that their are a few positive things about this project The positive are the different shapes and colors.
ReplyDeleteI think my shading in my three objects was a success. My project has different colors, straight lines, circle shape's, and a organic structure. I improved on my project because it looks more mixed and better looking then my other project.
ReplyDeleteI believe my most successful elements was the circular ornament and my background. I liked the texture how it wasn't smooth and more crisp. Also the geometric shapes were most circles. It had good shape, good lines, good balance and a good visual of the purple. From the black and white black to this project I think my shading has improved and everything is flowing better.
ReplyDeleteIn my art the lines are very linear and visual, the value is not in a great pattern but it looks pretty cool. My next art work has to be more smooth and my shades in the black and white project need to be more balanced instead of all out of control.
ReplyDeleteIn my art work there is more creativity and color value. There are also different patterns other than regular brush strokes. The grapes are shaded very lightly but in my opinion very well. There is a larger amount of shapes as well making the painting draw attention.
ReplyDeleteI believe that in my art work I was successful with the transitioning of colors in each of my objects, and my back ground provided a good balance for the objects with the negative and positive spaces. I believe that i need to improve on the straightening of the lines i make andthe over lapping over my colors. I improved from my wood block by transition and mixing colors better.
ReplyDeleteI believe that I was very successful with my teapot. The shading flows, blends, and shows the depth of the pot and the cap. In its entirety, the piece was lacking in the negative space. Some of it blended with the flowers, making them hard to see. Other parts feathered edges and looked sloppy. Overall, I improved with my shading and depth, but my backgrounds are still very lacking.
ReplyDeletelooking at the my finished piece I believe I improve on my shading and painting on within the lines. Working on the lines and seeing how I did them i need to work on the movement of my brush, it has a variety of different colors some of the points where at places where i would think to be original. I think I have improved on shading and how to use the edge of the brush to get on the lines and not be copie.
ReplyDeletelooking at my painting I think it had good color and good texture. I also thought it had poor smoothness and bad shape but over all it was cool and good.
ReplyDeleteI believe that I was very successful in making the bottle of ink and how the scissors were being help up. I didn't do to well with the blending right off the bat, but eventually i started to get the hang of it. it all flowed in the same direction and made it look good, but i tried doing it differently and instead of keeping the background all one color, i made mine checkered but each little spot blends. I improved on blending a little bit and keeping the brush steady when i need to.
ReplyDeleteI feel as if i had mad clean lines along with clean shapes but I feel like i need to keep more of a steady hand when painting and i need to improve with my blending skills as a painter so make my works better .
ReplyDeleteI still need to work on my straight lines, but I did do better. I need to work on my blending with this one, but in larger areas . I like my colors, I used green . I like the shape of my objects, too. I believe they did look very good compared to the picture. I like how I used straighter lines, and blended better in larger areas than before, but need to work on it.
ReplyDeleteI believe I was successful in getting the shape of the objects correct, and in showing interaction between the pieces by having the paintbrush lean against the bottle. I do think I could improve on my shading, and show a greater contrast between light and dark in my transition and shading.
ReplyDelete-Sam Dean
I feel that my finished piece has a nice background. My piece had a nice shade from lighter to darker in the color pattern. The shapes of the objects came out nice. The texture of the painting was my favorite part. I found that the contrast in colors came out nicely. I improved from the wooden block project by learning how to work faster and how to shade colors together better.
ReplyDeleteI thought my painting was good, my drawing was great and painting was lively and I blended the colors really well. It has great texture but its poor on the neatness of the painting, I have improved from my block I can blend the colors even better. Its smooth and not at the same time but overal I have improved form the first project.
ReplyDeleteI think the first 2 objects were ok but the last one was bad. Some of the lines were good but others were nit. It did not have much color to it. I think I have improved a little on the transitions.
ReplyDeleteI think that how my background was lighter than my foreground made my piece successful, it also made my picture have balance. Transitions throughout my flowers were also very smooth. My lines were a little bit better than my b&w block but I still need to work on them.
ReplyDeleteWell I think the thing that was most successful on my art work was the transitions in my colors. It isn't a bunch of lines, its nice and smooth. I mean i still have some lines in my transitions, but its better than it was in my black and white block, so i need to improve a bit on that. another thing i should probably improve on is not getting paint all over my hands and arms
ReplyDeleteI think I blended my colors and had smooth transitions from dark to light green. I need to work on my lines and my shading from a dark color to lighter, with the black. My black lines are too dark in my painting. But overall I think my painting came out very well.
ReplyDeleteI believe the shading in my teapot turned out successful! I think the color blue was a good choice for this piece and the way I overlapped/spaced the objects turned out well! I need to work on not having such harsh lines and blending just a little bit better. You can see in the background of my piece that the lines are harsh and you can see brush strokes!! My shading has definitely improved since my block project! It took me a much shorter amount of time to shade the newer picture than the bock!!
ReplyDeleteI think my parts I was successful in were the shading in my objects.
ReplyDeleteLooking at my monochromatic painting I feel that there was a good balance of colors in the background that didn't blend with my objects, which made them stand out more. I feel that the distribution of colors made the picture turn out better than I thought it would. The variety of shades of purple was also a good factor of the painting. I also liked the shading on the bowl, it looks as if the light were shining on if from an angle. I liked my picture drawn better than I did painted. I feel that I improved on the harshness on the different colors, there is more of a blend.
ReplyDeleteThe elements that I believe I did well on were the shading on the objects, and even though it was not necessary I really enjoyed the outlining I did on the lunchbox! >w< I worked very hard on the background of my painting making sure it was nice and sharp, I did not want any part of it to appear sloppy. I enjoyed the balance of the dark and light green throughout the whole painting . XD Also, I believe that the objects that I chose were the right choice because of the simplicity in them and the positions according to the shading. I definitely believe that I still have a long way to go when it comes to the shading still and how I need to show more fullness... ^^ Overall, I am very proud of it and I do think that I may have improved a bit from my last project on the block! :>>>
ReplyDeleteThe elements of my monochromatic artwork I thought are successful is the shading and background. I think it was easier to shade on the paper because it was smoother so the paint didn't dry as quickly. I think my background is successful because it really pops against the smoothly blended objects. I have improved on the shading but I do think I could have used better craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteI don't think my painting was very good. When it came to blending the colors it was very poor and you could see where i made the change in color
ReplyDeleteI think my painting was successful because of the strings showing close and far perspective, shading in the flower showed different petals, glare in the clock was done alright to show shape, light and dark colors were used to show different pieces and shading, and the placement of the flower is shown better with the strings running through. I think I did better with taking my time with straight line but needed help drawing the flower so I need to look at the shading of pieces overtop eachother.
ReplyDeleteFor my still life i decided to paint in the color of blue on the background i contrasted different blues. My grapes were overlapping my vase, and it gave me a visual aid of what i want it to turn out to be. I thought very negative about it.
ReplyDeleteIn my mono painting I did a pinkish/coral background that went light to dark. My painting was neat and colorful. The transitions between the tones for pink and coral were blended smoothly. My painting wasn't the best and I'm not a huge fan of how it turned out I need to be a little bit more creative.
ReplyDeleteI felt that it was blended pretty well on the background and shapes. I think i could have done the shapes better then they actually turned out. I was going for a more free flowing look and wanted it to be a big transition in the shading. over all i could have made the shapes a bit better but i think i have the shading down
ReplyDeleteNow take a look at your finished piece and describe what elements of the piece you believe were successful. Describe your piece using at least 5 art terms in full sentences. Then tell me how you think you have improved from your black and white block to this lesson and how.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think my piece was successful. I think I did well with the light and dark but I still need to work on it a little bit more. I did good on that project but I need to work on the light and dark just a little bit more.
I believed my blending has gotten better than they were before. My texture was better as well and it is all starting to come together and make my art work look better. When I take my time and work hard my work gets better and better every project. I think my project was successful. I have improved from the last lesson by about everything because i am actually understanding how everything should look like after its all come together.
ReplyDeleteIn my painting the parts I thought were successful were the blending of the pineapples and Vase. The background was also pretty good. I used my negative space and positive space well. I faded the colors from dark to light well, but something I could have worked on would have used more paint to hide to previous color. I could've done the Edges a little bit better and make it flow better. I think I have improved from my block painting by using all different kinds of shading and making it flow a lot better.
ReplyDeleteI think that my most successful part of the project was my shading. You can tell where the walls in the pictures come to an end. I didn't mix any of the colors where they weren't supposed. I can do a little better with transition to new objects. There is only one specific place in my project where my shading is bad. I think this project was way better than the black and white block.
ReplyDeleteI had a light-bulb soap and orange had a very good transition and i think i could have did better on the background.I also faded the blue well and added black and white well too.I think i all-around well.
