Painting Tips

Painting Tips:

KEEP STEADY:
Tip-Keep the outside of your hand that you are painting with down on the table.
This will help you get a straight line and give you more control.

BE SMOOTH:
Tip-Go slow with your paintbrush and in the same direction.
This will give you smooth looking lines that shows good craftsmanship.

NO MESSY HAIR:
Tip-Use lots of paint, but not gobs.
If you get ragged edges you don’t have enough paint.

SHOW SMOOTH COLOR CHANGES:
Tip-When your paint is still wet you want to start to bring the next color shade/ or color change into it and work them together to give it a smooth look.

BE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR BRUSH:
Tip-Find a paint brush that you really like.  One that you feel comfortable holding and using.  This will make a difference.

CLEANING TIPS:
Tip-Lay all paintbrushes in the basket to dry-this helps preserve the wooden brush.      Clean your own palette and put it in your cabinet every day.
    BRUSHES ARE SHARED!
Rinse water cups-we all share those too.
Have a paper towel and water cup by you when painting.
Share things with a neighbor-it makes clean up a lot easier.
