Warm/Cool Color Assessment

Now that you have completed your 3rd painting in Art 2, tell me what you think your strengths overall are and what you think you need to work on when it comes to painting.  Did you get better in the area that I told you to work on?  I would also like you to tell me one thing that you would like to do  this semester in Art 2.  Go onto the internet and research something that you would like to do and then paste a link to an example of what you would like to do in your post and also explain what aspect you would like to do in Art 2.

  2. I think overall my strengths are painting with all shades of a color. I think I need to work on painting more realistically. I did get better on the shading which is what I had to work on. http://www.art-rageous.net/SculpturalPaintings.html
I thought this looked like a fun project. I would like to be able to paint so it looks realistic when im done with art 2.

  3. my painting has gotten a lot better from the last project i did, including how well the shading is blending together and how neat it is. This semester i want to keep working on how well my painting is and gradually get better as we go on.

  4. Painting is something that takes time and i need to work on taking my time and not rushing. My strengths would have to be when I paint the sides of an object. I think i did work on the shading aspect of what you told me to do. This semester i would like to make one of my painting so good that it gets picked for the art show.

  6. I think my strength are mixing colors and I have good balance.I think I need to do better on getting neater and blending. I did a little better on blending.

  7. I think my strengths are my color blending and use of colors; however, I feel a lot to do a lot of work when it comes to my finer detailing. I did use more layers of paint in my areas of my artwork to emphasize the colors and to prevent my paint strokes from negatively impacting my piece.I would like to paint more landscapes in Art 2. I feel like it would be the quickest way for me to improve my painting skills since drawing landscapes tend to come easier for me. http://pinterest.com/artgirl67/art-lesson-ideas-landscape-seascape/

  8. my strengths would be fading the colors, and i need to work on making better drawings. Yes i did get better on what you told me to work on. I want to continue to work on having better shapes.

  9. I like that i can fade colors easily, but I still want to work on lines. I can sort of make leaner lines, but I also want to make my pictures look neater. Something I would want to do would be a shadowing portrait using pastels. like this >> http://pinterest.com/pin/287737863663584595/

  10. I like that, I can do plenty of shades well but my lines still could be more neat. even though I use plenty of paint so there's no real thin parts in the picture. But I would like to do something like this because of the warm colors and the different shades.:: http://www.etsy.com/listing/35996605/whimsical-tuscan-colorful-landscape-folk?utm_campaign=Share&utm_medium=PageTools&utm_source=Pinterest

  12. My shading has improved more as well as the fine lines of objects in my painting. I could work on the detail of my paintings a little more or more amounts of shaded objects. I'd like to try this: http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/dali-metamorphosis-of-narcissus-t02343

  13. In my warm and cold project i improve on my shading a little also my creativity was more impressive. I think the transition in my shading could be better it dosent look very smooth and some spots I missed. Also I would love to try and make self portraits of ourselves and in the background like draw our hobbies and paint it all. http://www.sketchbookproject.com/projects/selfportrait

  14. I think my weakness would not getting enough paint in the for the background to make it just as good as the actually objects in the painting and i believe i did get better with it and that im starting to get an idea of how i should be doing it and getting it to look better

  15. I think my weakness is having spots of white that I need to fill in. I believe I am much better at fading and mixing paints. I would still like to improve on my painting skills.

  16. I think I have gotten better at blending colors. This painting is much more detailed than my last project, which used mostly just solid colors. My weakness has to be that the things I paint tend to look a little unintentionally strange and disproportionate. I would like to paint something like this. http://pinterest.com/pin/542824561306509530/

  17. The area that I needed to work on was making my lines better, and in this assignment they have definitely improved. My drawing skills are also getting better. I think that this concept looks pretty interesting to try: http://pinterest.com/pin/47569339786305548/
I like that it must include creativeness to make successful, and it would be fun to see if people notice other people's changes to their background that they chose.

  19. The strength of this painting was my shading. The weakness of this painting is still making the edges of the objects I make shaky. I did a little better on making the edges not as shaky.

  20. I Think my best part was shading the ground making it look like sand kind of i guess. Yes i acutely got better i really do not care what we do in here what ever i do is fine as long as i get graded.

  21. I think my strengths are painting in the lines and become more neat. I still think in need to work on my shading and i want to draw a random thing then paint it.http://pinterest.com/artgirl67/art-lesson-ideas-landscape-seascape/ And i want to make my project look more realistic.

  22. I am getting better at blending the colors in and doing the dark to light. I think I approve more in each project and are getting better at the things you told me to work on. I can tell that I am getting better and better with each project I do.

  23. I think I am doing much better with shading and using that to make things pop. My pictures look more realistic with the time and effort I put into it along with all the practice I'm getting. I think the warm cool contrast makes the picture more interesting by isolating the colors, and I think I did well by not making them to contrast. And something I would like to try is like this: http://joethepeacock.blogspot.com/2012/07/why-i-surround-myself-with-art.html ... Using a lot of different colors mixed to make some object or person come together.

  24. I would say I have improved on blending the colors in and actually taking my time. I think if I keep on working the better I will get. My painting turned out pretty well.

  25. I think my blending skills are improving. I actually was very surprised on how much I liked my painting when I finished. I also need to to work on my lines. I want to draw something and learn how to shade with pencil, I rather draw instead of drawing and then painting over it.

  27. I think my blending is improving a lot. The colors are actually coming together now that i understand how to do it. I was surprised how my project turned out because it actually turned out really good. I need to work on not overlapping my lines in painting. I want to learn how to draw instead of painting.

  28. I think my shading improved a lot. I am still having trouble with larger spaces but my smaller spaces are good! I need to work on the larger spaces and blending better. I want to learn how to not be so basic.

  29. I think I am pretty good at painting a lot of details on a picture but my shading still needs a little work. It has improved however!! My shading has improved a tiny bit since the last project, which is good! I think it would be cool to try "cross stitch painting". You paint a bunch of small "x"'s and they make a big picture!! It seems really fun, and the results look nice!~
